The Centre for Sustainable Energy and Development addresses central topics for modern engineering with multiple challenges requiring further research, the strengthening of teaching and the possibility of contributing to public policies on this matter. Thus, the CEDS has the primary objective of consolidating its presence in public and academic policy-making by participating in research projects and studies from the public sector relevant to defining public policies on energy and sustainability. At the same time, the CEDS promotes outreach and debate activities about the results of its projects and research. It also encourages general debates on energy and sustainability matters.
